Shopify Integrations & Custom Builds · Ireland & UK

Stop reconciling Shopify and Sage by hand on Friday afternoons.

Irish retailers running Shopify alongside Sage 50, Sage 200, AccountsIQ or Xero usually have the same recurring pain — orders ship, payouts hit the bank, refunds happen, and someone in the finance team spends half of every Friday matching it all up. We fix that. We also build new Shopify storefronts that don't look like every other DTC brand, plumbed back to your accounts / PIM / ERP from day one.

Two clear tracks

Integrations.
Or full builds.
Often both.

Most of our Shopify engagements fall cleanly into one of two tracks. About a third of clients end up doing both — a fresh storefront and the back-end plumbing — usually because the existing store was built years ago by a freelance theme-shop that never owned the integration. We're explicitly NOT a Shopify reseller and we're explicitly NOT trying to compete with Sage. We make the two talk to each other properly.

Track 1

Shopify ↔ ERP / Accounts integrations

Bespoke middleware between Shopify and Sage 50 / Sage 200 / AccountsIQ / Xero / NetSuite / Odoo. Order → invoice. Refund → credit note. Stripe payout → bank reconciliation. Product master in Akeneo or Sage.

  • Real-time order sync (queue-backed, idempotent retries)
  • Stock & price sync — single source of truth
  • VAT codes, fulfilment status, customer master mapping
  • Stripe / Shopify Payments payout reconciliation
  • Webhooks-first; no nightly batch jobs
Track 2

Custom Shopify storefronts for Irish retailers

Bespoke Shopify 2.0 themes, not a recoloured Dawn. Built around your brand, your product range and the specific buyer journeys that matter to your category. Integration-ready from day one.

  • Custom sections / blocks for merchandising flexibility
  • Akeneo PIM plumbing for clean product data
  • Stripe / Worldpay / Square checkout setup
  • GA4 + GTM + Meta CAPI configured properly
  • Performance-tuned (LCP under 2.5s on mid-range mobile)
Public proof

Live work in the wild.

We don't publish a logo grid until clients explicitly approve it. Where they have, you can browse the live storefront and see the work directly — performance, layout, integration polish.

What we connect Shopify to

Six common pipelines. All bespoke.

These are the integrations we ship most often. There's no Shopify App Store plugin for any of these — we build them with the customer, then own them on a small monthly retainer so they don't rot when Shopify or the destination system pushes a breaking change.

Shopify ↔ Sage 50 / 200

Orders, refunds, products, customers. Draft invoice or auto-approved per your finance team's preference. Multi-currency where needed.

Shopify ↔ AccountsIQ

Sales invoices and credit notes with the right nominal codes and VAT treatment. Customer master sync; multi-entity if you run group accounts.

Shopify ↔ Akeneo PIM

Akeneo is the single source of truth for product copy, images, attributes and localisation. Shopify pulls clean data; manual product entry stops.

Stripe / Shopify Payments reconciliation

Payouts decomposed into the underlying orders, refunds, fees and FX. Bank-feed reconciliation becomes a one-click match instead of a forensics exercise.

Shopify ↔ 3PL / WMS

Order release to your warehouse / 3PL (Mintsoft, Vinculum, custom). Tracking back to Shopify and to the customer. Returns handled cleanly.

Shopify ↔ CRM (Pipedrive, HubSpot)

High-value B2B customers piped into your CRM with order history. Win-back automations for lapsed accounts. Lead-scoring fed from order behaviour.

How we run it

Map first. Code second.

Every Shopify integration that has ever broken did so because someone skipped the mapping. We don't. Discovery is paid, fixed-price, and you keep the deliverable even if you don't engage us for the build.

01
Paid discovery · €1,500–€3,000

1–2 weeks. Entity mapping, edge cases (bundles, made-to-order, refunds, gift cards, exchanges), VAT treatment, sandbox setup, fixed-price build quote.

02
Fixed-price build · 4–8 weeks

Implementation against the mapping. UAT with your finance and ops team in a sandbox tenant. Cutover plan. Production go-live with rollback ready.

03
Retainer · from €450 / month

We own the integration, monitor failures, ship updates when Shopify or the destination system changes. Optional: build-out of new flows as the business grows.

Common questions

Shopify integration & build FAQs.

Do you integrate Shopify with Sage 50, Sage 200 or AccountsIQ?+

Yes — but we treat each one as a discrete project, not a checkbox. The integration depends on whether you run Shopify Plus or Basic, how your SKUs are structured, whether you use bundles or made-to-order, and how returns are booked. We map every entity (product, variant, order, payment, refund, customer, fulfilment) before writing any code. Expect a 1–2 week discovery, then a fixed-price build. Most clients go live in 4–8 weeks with full reconciliation against their accounting source of truth.

Can you build us a new Shopify store, not just an integration?+

Yes — for Irish retailers and DTC brands we build full Shopify storefronts: custom themes (Shopify 2.0 sections), Akeneo PIM integration for clean product data, payment gateway setup (Stripe, Worldpay, Square), GA4 + GTM, and the integration plumbing back to your ERP / accounts. We don't take a percentage of GMV. Fixed-price project, monthly retainer for ongoing changes.

Do we need Shopify Plus?+

Usually not. Shopify Basic / Advanced is fine for most Irish SMEs up to about €5–10m GMV. You only need Plus if you have multi-store / multi-region setups, custom checkout requirements (only Plus allows checkout.liquid edits), or B2B with custom price lists. We'll tell you honestly which tier you need — we don't get a kickback either way.

How do you handle reconciliation between Shopify and our accounts?+

We never auto-post anything to your general ledger. Every Shopify order becomes a draft / approved sales invoice (Sage / AccountsIQ / Xero) with the exact line items, VAT codes and customer reference your bookkeeper expects. Refunds become credit notes. Payouts (Stripe, Shopify Payments) become bank transactions with the gross-to-net breakdown so reconciliation is one-click. We've stopped seeing 'where did this €4,231.66 come from' questions from finance teams.

What about Akeneo PIM, Sage 200 ERP, or other middleware?+

We build Shopify ↔ Akeneo PIM pipelines so product copy and assets live in Akeneo (your single source of truth), and the storefront pulls clean data automatically. For Sage 200 we use the Sage 200 API + a queue-based middleware so an order spike on Black Friday doesn't lock your ERP. For anything else (NetSuite, Odoo, Pipedrive, Salesforce), we design a custom middleware layer — typically Python + a message queue + idempotent retries.

Are you a Shopify Partner?+

We work as a bespoke development partner — every project is custom code, not a copy-paste of a Shopify theme. We're not chasing a partner-tier referral commission, so our recommendations are honest. For some clients we'll happily recommend an off-the-shelf theme + a small integration rather than a full custom build, if that's the right answer.
