Business WiFi and Secure Networking for Operational Businesses.

Reliable connectivity is not a convenience when your business depends on guest WiFi, cloud systems, payment terminals, front-desk operations or remote access.

Intellix designs and supports business networks that are practical, segmented and documented.

For hotels, offices, food producers and multi-site businesses requiring WiFi, firewall, VLAN, failover or network support.

Common business scenarios

When businesses tend to call us.

Hotel and guest WiFi improvement

Existing hotel where guests, staff, EPOS and IoT share a flat network. We segment, validate coverage, install controlled access points and document the rebuild.

Office network upgrade

Growing office where the network was built by a previous provider years ago. We review, segment, harden firewall policy and replace ageing equipment where required.

New premises or fit-out

Greenfield design — capacity planning, vendor selection, structured-cabling coordination, firewall and WiFi design, validated handover.

Multi-site connectivity

Branch-to-branch VPN, unified firewall policy, consistent VLANs across sites and centralised access management.

Failover internet setup

Dual-carrier failover for hotels, retail and operational sites — provider coordination, firewall failover rules and documented failure scenarios.

Post-incident network review

Practical review after a breach, ransomware event, suspicious traffic alert or compliance finding — what happened, what changed, what needs to be redesigned.

Scope

What we can deliver.

WiFi coverage and capacity planning

Coverage mapping for offices, function rooms, retail floors and outdoor spaces; capacity sized for the realistic device count.

Guest, staff and operational network separation

Guest WiFi, staff network, IoT devices, payment terminals and operational systems each on their own VLAN with appropriate access controls.

VLAN design and segmentation

Layer-2 / Layer-3 segmentation, inter-VLAN routing policy and switch-port assignment — designed once, documented properly.

Firewall policy and secure access

Rule-set design, role-based access, secure remote access, and segmentation of payment and operational traffic.

Failover internet and resilience planning

Dual-carrier failover, configured failure scenarios, documented routing decisions and operational handover notes.

Captive portal and guest access options

Branded captive portals, voucher-based or contactless guest access, terms-of-use compliance and visitor segregation.

Network documentation

Topology diagrams, VLAN tables, IP plans, account inventories and handover notes — so the network is not held together by tribal knowledge.

Ongoing support and monitoring options

Periodic configuration review, firmware management, change control and integration with a wider managed IT arrangement where appropriate.

Where cabling or specialist installation is required, Intellix can coordinate with the appropriate provider.

Technology approach

Business requirement first. Technology stack second.

We design around the business requirement first, then select the appropriate technology stack.

Our supported stack includes pfSense and Netgate firewalls, Ubiquiti switching and access points, and Cisco hardware where the environment requires it. Vendor selection follows business need — not the other way around.

See our pfSense and Netgate firewall expertise for the deeper service detail.

Who we work with

Industries we typically deliver for.

Hotels and hospitality

Guest WiFi, front-desk systems, payment terminals, staff networks, CCTV and operational devices where relevant, and internet failover.

Offices and professional services

Secure staff access, Microsoft 365, device separation, firewall policy and remote-working support.

Food producers and operational sites

Factory networking, segmented production VLANs, secure remote access for engineers and operational-uptime resilience.

Multi-site SMEs

Branch-to-branch VPN, unified firewall policy and consistent network baselines across sites.

Delivery model

How we deliver network work.

01

Initial scoping

Conversation with a senior engineer to understand business need, constraints and current state.

02

Environment review

Walk-through of the existing network, broadband, devices, vendors and pain-points.

03

Network design

Topology, VLANs, IP plan, firewall policy and equipment selection — written down and walked through with you before any changes.

04

Installation coordination and configuration

We coordinate installation work, configure equipment, validate the design end-to-end and stage the cutover.

05

Documentation, validation and ongoing support

Full handover documentation, post-install validation and an agreed ongoing support model.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

Do you provide WiFi setup for hotels?
Yes. Hotel and hospitality WiFi is one of our core areas — guest networks, function-room capacity, payment-terminal segmentation, captive portals and failover internet. We work both on new fit-outs and on existing sites where guest WiFi is the loudest operational complaint.
Can you separate guest WiFi from staff and operational systems?
Yes. Network segmentation is one of the first things we look at. Guest, staff, IoT, payment-terminal and operational traffic should each have their own VLANs and access policies, not share a single flat network. We design segmentation, write firewall policy and document the result for handover.
Can you configure failover internet?
Yes. Dual-carrier failover is a common requirement for hotels, multi-site SMEs and operational businesses. We coordinate with broadband providers, configure the firewall failover policy, define which traffic is allowed to use the secondary link, and document the failover scenarios for your operations team.
Do you support pfSense and Netgate firewalls?
Yes. pfSense and Netgate are one of our specialist firewall platforms, particularly where granular rule sets, multi-WAN, VLAN routing or VPN concentration are required. See our pfSense and Netgate firewall expertise page for the deeper service detail.
Can you coordinate cabling and installation work?
Where cabling or specialist installation is required, Intellix can coordinate with the appropriate provider. Larger structured-cabling and patch-panel work is delivered through approved installers, with Intellix managing the design, validation and handover documentation.
Do you provide ongoing support after the network is deployed?
Yes. After install we can continue under an ongoing support arrangement — monitoring, firmware management, configuration changes, troubleshooting and periodic security review. Ongoing support is also available bundled inside a wider managed IT engagement.
